Nicotine salts, or nic salts, are naturally occurring nicotine compounds found in tobacco leaves. When combined with e-liquids, they offer a highly efficient method for delivering nicotine to your body. Typically available in 10ml bottles, they are formulated for MTL (mouth-to-lung) vaping kits.
Why Consider Using Nic Salts?
If you’re a smoker looking to switch to vaping, nic salt vape juices are an excellent choice. Nic salts deliver high nicotine levels quickly and effectively, providing long-lasting satisfaction. Unlike freebase nicotine, nic salts offer a smoother throat hit and enhanced flavour production.
Nic Salts Compared to Freebase Nicotine
Freebase nicotine, the conventional form of nicotine, has a higher pH, resulting in a strong throat hit at strengths above 12mg and muted flavours. This may suit some users, but if you prefer strong, rapid nicotine delivery with bold flavours, nic salts are the way to go. Nic salts, derived from tobacco leaves, are mixed with benzoic acid to lower the pH, ensuring quick absorption and a milder throat hit.
Advantages of Nic Salts
- Rapid Absorption & Long-lasting Satisfaction: Nic salts are absorbed quickly, keeping cravings at bay for longer.
- Rich & Complex Flavours: Enjoy a wide variety of flavours without any nicotine interference.
- Smooth Throat Hit: Experience a pleasant vaping session.
- High Nicotine Strengths Available: Tailor your nicotine intake with strengths up to 20mg.
- Cost-effective: Use less e-liquid to achieve your desired nicotine levels.
How Quickly Do Nic Salts Take Effect?
Due to their chemical structure, nic salts are absorbed almost immediately, providing rapid relief from cravings. The experience closely mimics smoking, making the transition to vaping seamless and stress-free.
Are Nic Salts Superior in Flavour?
Yes, nic salts deliver excellent flavour. Unlike freebase nicotine, which can impair flavour, especially at higher strengths, nic salts are flavourless and allow the true essence of the e-liquid to shine through. This means you can enjoy a more extensive range of flavours without compromise.
Are Nic Salts Harsher?
Nic salts have a lower pH, resulting in a much smoother vaping experience compared to freebase nicotine. The throat hit is mild but satisfying, ensuring you feel the nicotine without discomfort.
Do Nic Salts Contain More Nicotine?
Nic salts offer the highest nicotine concentrations available in the UK, ranging from 5mg to 20mg. This variety allows you to choose the strength that best matches your smoking habits.
Are Nic Salts More Affordable?
Yes, nic salts are more economical. Their rapid and sustained delivery means you need fewer puffs to satisfy your cravings, reducing overall e-liquid consumption.
Can You Sub-ohm Vape Nic Salts?
Nic salts in 10ml bottles are designed for MTL devices and work best with coils above 1.0 ohm. Sub-ohm devices, which produce large vapour clouds, can make nic salts harsh and overwhelming due to high nicotine delivery. However, you can mix a flavourless nic shot with a high VG shortfill e-liquid to achieve a smoother experience.
