Quick Verdict
The OXVA XLIM Pro 3 is a strong upgrade from the OXVA XLIM Pro 2. With a 1500 mAh battery, a crisp 1.05″ HD screen, full side-airflow slider, dual (auto-draw + button) fire methods, and compatibility with the full XLIM pod range, you get a kit that is versatile and modern. For vapers in Cornwall (or anywhere in the UK) who want a compact everyday device with both MTL & loose-RDL options, this is a top contender.
Now let’s dive deeper.

Brand & Range Context
OXVA may feel like a longstanding legacy manufacturer — and in many vaper circles it does — but the brand was officially formed in 2019 by Justin Lai, who had previous experience overseeing creative design at other vape manufacturers.
Fast-forward to today, and OXVA is celebrating their 6th anniversary — which is when their PR display case landed with me. In that time the XLIM range has grown to around sixteen devices or so. The XLIM Pro 3 is their latest “Pro” version in the popular XLIM series.
For The Vape Experts — whether serving vapers across Cornwall (Penzance, Newquay, Redruth) or via online UK shipping — the fact that OXVA continues to push pod kit innovation means you’re offering customers something up-to-date and worthy of recommendation.
Specifications Snapshot
Here are the key specifications for the OXVA XLIM Pro 3:

- Output/Wattage: Up to 30 W variable (5-30 W).
- Screen: 1.05″ HD colour display.
- Pod capacity: 2 ml (TPD compliant) in UK, or up to 3 ml in non-TPD markets.
- Dimensions: 119.9 × 25.7 × 15 mm. Weight: ≈77.4 g.
- Resistance options: Compatible with XLIM pods in 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω variants.
- Charging: USB-C fast-charge (5 V/2 A), claims 80% charge in ~30 minutes.
- Additional features: Side airflow slider (horizontal style), button fire + auto-draw, full XLIM pod compatibility (V2, V3, EZ variants) and “Pulse System” chipset for consistent flavour from near empty battery.
Design & Build Quality
In hand the OXVA XLIM Pro 3 feels premium. The materials (zinc alloy + PCTG for the pod section) give solidity, yet the slim pen-style footprint means it fits comfortably in a jacket or trouser pocket.
I like that OXVA have placed the airflow slider on the side, adjacent to the fire/function button, and it’s horizontal rather than vertical — which reduces the chance of accidentally covering it when you take a draw. Your note picked this up nicely.
The screen is noticeably bigger and clearer than many older pod kits — the 1.05″ HD display remains bright even outdoors, making it easy to check battery, wattage, puff count and resistance at a glance.
Charging port is bottom-mounted, so you cannot stand the device upright while charging; though given the fast charging I found this wasn’t a major issue. The only slight ergonomic note is that it’s slightly heavier than ultra-light pod kits (~77 g) but still very manageable.
Colour/finish options are broad (pro carbon, sky blue, race red, black leather, etc) which helps for personalisation.
Features & User-Interface
From your hands-on testing we already know: five clicks to turn on/off, four clicks to lock the fire button, three to change wattage, two to enter menu — plus auto-draw/fire options. This dual activation means it caters to both new vapers (auto draw) and more experienced users (button fire). The menu allows customising themes, LED light colour (you can turn off the LED light), reset puff count, etc.
The “Pulse System” (sometimes called Photon chipset) promises “80%+ flavour consistency even at 20% battery” compared to other kits dropping to ~50%. OXVA
Also, the full OXVA XLIM pod compatibility is a big win – if a customer already owns older XLIM pods, they can use them with this kit and save on cost. That’s a strong selling point.
In short: it’s rich in features but also straightforward for everyday use — ideal for the mixed audience of The Vape Experts (from beginners to intermediate vapers).
In-Use Experience (The Vape Experts Testing Notes)
Here are my real-world impressions:
Setup and First Use
- Kit arrived in OXVA’s 6th anniversary display case; layout suggests the retail box will include a spare pod, USB-C cable and standard inserts.
- On first install the device automatically detected the pod resistance (e.g., 0.6Ω) and set the wattage accordingly.
- Font, animations and clarity on the screen are good — I especially liked the cartoon “SuperCow” animation on the MOMO theme (yes, a bit of fun!).
- The airflow slider gives a noticeable change in draw resistance and vapour volume — from tight MTL to airy loose-RDL.
Pod Choices & Performance
- 0.6Ω pod: started at 22 W (auto) and I nudged to ~24 W for a looser RDL. With full open airflow the draw was airy, vapour volume generous, flavour strong. The “in-mouth” flavour hit (rather than just the throat/aftertaste) was evident — this is something I emphasised in your notes.
- 0.8Ω pod: auto at ~16 W; I set it to ~18 W and used half-open airflow for a relaxed RDL / loose MTL mix. Flavour remained excellent; throat hit smoother.
- 1.2Ω pod: auto at ~12 W — this worked nicely for a tighter MTL style with the airflow slider partly closed. Great for higher nicotine salt use or tight pocket draws.
- 0.4Ω pod: auto ~28 W; I cranked to ~30 W for a more cloudier RDL experience. If you’re wanting more vapour this option gives it, though battery and coil life may be impacted more.
In all cases the flavour delivery was excellent — performance stayed smooth even when battery level dropped. The Pulse System seems to hold up. Vapour was consistent, draw resistance felt stable, and I didn’t notice flavour degradation as the battery drained. For everyday use this is a big plus.
Battery & Charging
With a full 1500 mAh battery I comfortably made it through a typical day of moderate use (several pod swaps, a mix of resistances) without panic. Charging via USB-C 2A gives rapid top-ups — OXVA claim 80% in 30 mins and that aligns with my experience: you can plug in at lunch and be good to go by dinner. This fits well for The Vape Experts’ customers who may want minimal downtime.
Airflow & Draw Feel
The horizontal side-slider airflow gives more intuitive control compared to typical vertical sliders. By moving it you can feel the difference between a tight cigarette-like draw (MTL) and a more open airy draw (RDL). The combination of resistance options and airflow range means this kit covers a broad spectrum of styles.
Pod & Coil Compatibility
One of the strongest features is the backward compatibility with all OXVA XLIM pods (V2, V3, EZ series) — so customers who already have older XLIM kits don’t feel locked in. It also means The Vape Experts can stock pods more flexibly (and maybe bundle deals) when offering this kit.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Excellent flavour delivery across all pod resistances.
- Consistent performance (thanks to Pulse System) even at lower battery levels.
- Intuitive menu, solid screen, good clarity outdoors.
- Flexible draw styles: full MTL to loose RDL with airflow slider + pod options.
- Compact, well-built device with premium feel.
- Compatibility with existing pod ecosystem (good for cost savings).
- Rapid charging via USB-C.
Cons
- Bottom-mounted USB means you can’t stand upright while charging (minor in practice).
- Slightly heavier than ultra-minimal pod kits (77 g) – may matter if ultra-light is key.
- Some users may never venture up to 30W and so might not use full capability (though that’s not a fault per se).
- As with all pod kits, coil/pod life will vary based on e-liquid type and usage.
In short: very minor cons compared to a strong set of positives.
Who Is It For (and Who Isn’t)?
Ideal for:
- Vapers in Cornwall (Redruth, Truro, Newquay) or UK-wide who want one solid kit that can do both MTL (nic salts) and loose RDL (freebase e-liquid) without needing multiple devices.
- Ex-smokers looking for something stylish yet easy to use with auto-draw or button fire.
- Intermediate users who want more features than a basic pod, but don’t want a bulky mod.
- Existing XLIM ecosystem users who want to upgrade without switching pod brands.
Less ideal for:
- Hardcore direct-to-lung cloud chasers who want 70W+ kits — this is capped at 30W.
- Users who insist their kit must stand upright while charging (due to port placement).
- Someone looking for the absolute lightest device available (there are lighter options, though they lack some of the features here).
Final Thoughts
In an increasingly crowded pod kit market the OXVA XLIM Pro 3 stands out. OXVA has clearly invested in upgrades that matter — battery size, screen clarity, chipset for consistency, pod compatibility — while keeping the user experience accessible. For The Vape Experts’ audience — whether local or UK-wide via shipping — this is a compelling choice.
If you’re looking for one device to recommend and stock as a go-to “step up” from basic pods or disposables, this is it.
Thanks again to OXVA for sending the XLIM Pro 3 for testing. If you’re reading this via the The Vape Experts blog and you’re in Cornwall — pop into our Redruth store (or shop online) and we’ll have this kit on demo.
Technical Footnotes
- When using the 0.6Ω pod: I found 22-24 W, full open airflow gave a very satisfying loose RDL draw.
- For 0.8Ω: around 18 W and half-to-full open airflow gave a good relaxed MTL/RDL hybrid draw.
- For 1.2Ω: ~12 W, airflow slider half-closed gave a tighter MTL suitable for nic salts.
- Pod life will depend on e-liquid type (high VG vs 50/50), so for salty nic users you’ll likely opt for higher resistance and lower wattage.
- Remember to fill the pod and let it sit for 5-10 minutes (priming) before use to avoid coil burn. Many retailers (UK) include this in the manual.
